Company Overview

About

Founded in 2019, Princeton NuEnergy is a U.S.-based advanced materials manufacturer developing proprietary, closed-loop processes for lithium-ion battery materials production. Our platform is built around patented low-temperature plasma-assisted separation technology, enabling the recovery, purification, and rejuvenation of battery materials without breaking cathode active material down into basic metal salts.

Today, PNE is focused on two near-term commercial priorities: producing Rejuvenated Cathode Active Materials through Cathode-to-Cathode® direct recycling and manufacturing high-purity Advanced Black Mass™ for flexible downstream processing.

With facilities in South Carolina, New Jersey, and Texas, PNE is scaling a domestic platform designed to strengthen critical minerals security, reduce production costs, and support a more resilient U.S. battery supply chain.

Our Mission

Our mission is to establish a domestic, cost-efficient pathway for producing battery-grade cathode materials and Advanced Black Mass™.

Through our closed-loop direct recycling platform, we help battery manufacturers recover value from manufacturing scrap while creating materials that can re-enter the battery supply chain with less processing, lower cost, and faster turnaround.

By advancing Rejuvenated CAM and Advanced Black Mass™ production in the U.S., PNE is helping address growing demand across electric vehicles, energy storage, and next-generation battery manufacturing.

Our Responsibility

Our responsibility is to build practical, scalable solutions that improve the economics and reliability of battery materials production.

PNE’s technology is designed to preserve the value of battery materials, reduce reliance on complex overseas processing, and support a more secure domestic supply of critical minerals.

From our commercial Advanced Black Mass™ facility in Chester, South Carolina, to our materials R&D and testing capabilities in New Jersey, we are focused on execution, product quality, and long-term supply chain resilience.
